PolyTrack Sky Ridge: Driving guide
Sky Ridge is a hard one-lap mountain route: an 11.5 m road climbs toward the summit before summit turns and a linked descent. Complete the whole sequence in one race.
polytrack.games is the official website for our independently developed racing game. Our game has its own tracks, cars and gameplay and is distinct from other games with the same name. Route names, season numbers, results and JSON track files here apply to our game. Use the maps and guides to choose a practice route.

How to practise this PolyTrack route
On this site, PolyTrack Highland 6 is Sky Ridge. Locate the start and direction on the map, learn the bends in a solo lap, then practise the sections below. This page does not provide an average time or world record; compare your own complete laps with the same car, track level and mode.
Read the route
Climb north on the west side. At the northeast high section, turn back west onto the middle ridge. The road then opens eastward, descends along the southeast and returns from the west. Learn the climb, summit turn and descent separately; stay on the road even when the start looks close.
Braking, nitro and NEON racing
Aim first to finish without reset penalties and slow before the summit turn. The middle ridge changes direction repeatedly: finish one turn before committing to the next. Avoid holding nitro through the descent. Once familiar, adjust braking in just one section per attempt. Start NEON low, leave space in narrow turns and contest position on exit.
Do not hold acceleration immediately after the summit turn: the middle section draws west before opening east again. If you oversteer the first bend, lift and regain direction rather than masking the error with nitro. End acceleration early on the descent and slow before turning. Retry in the same car, adjusting only your most troublesome section. After a reset, finish the remaining route of the current lap.
Laps, checkpoints and finishing
Pass three checkpoints in order on every lap, then cross the start/finish line along the road. The race ends after all required laps; each checkpoint reset adds three seconds, already included in the final time. NEON completes the same number of laps. Compare results with the same car, track level and system strength.
Find a track collectible
Through mountain mist, watch for a traveller’s glimmer.
Collectibles are for display and sharing, with no score, speed or energy bonus. Finish normally first, then start another run to watch for clues.

Read the obstacle, then choose a clear side
Orange markers on the map show obstacles. The table lists their occupied road sides in driving order. Left and right are relative to your driving direction. Learn the open lane first, then try increasing your speed.
Obstacle counts and positions stay the same on a given track. Solo laps and every NEON strength use the same obstacle layout. System strength changes NEON’s pace and nitro choices; when racing NEON, the first car to reach a refill takes it.
| Distance from the start | Occupied side | Clear passing side |
|---|---|---|
| About 69 m | Right | Left |
| About 221 m | Right | Left |
| About 1012 m | Right | Left |
Compare practice with your actual finished laps
Note complete time and reset penalties. Keep route layout, track level, car, handling and mode fixed; with NEON keep strength and current rules too. Change one action next lap, such as earlier nitro release. Repeat complete laps to judge consistency; one faster result does not promise improvement every time.
Hypothetical time-reading example, not a measured lap: 60 seconds of driving with no reset displays 60 seconds. Driving for 58 seconds with one three-second reset displays 61. That 61 already includes the penalty, so do not turn it into 64. Review the mistake location too; points do not replace this comparison.
Return to the track and practise one skill
Keep the same track and mode, change one action, and see whether your next lap is steadier. If you need help, describe the bend and your controls in the driver comments.
